Lead Audiologist, Austin Hearing Aid Center

Born and raised in Austin, Dr. Allison Archer earned her Doctorate in Audiology from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Archer is highly experienced with best practices in hearing healthcare, including comprehensive diagnostic hearing evaluations, programming, fitting & service of all brands of hearing instruments.

She loves living here and cannot imagine a better city to call home. She enjoys gardening, listening to audiobooks, and drinking coffee on the patio in her free time.

AuD

Clinical Coordinator, Lenire-Certified Audiologist

Dr. Amanda Zappler, Au.D. has over 28 years of clinical practice. Dr. Zappler earned her Doctorate of Audiology from A.T. Still Health Sciences University, and her Master’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Zappler is certified by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for Audiology and the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association.

Dr. Zappler's clinical interests include diagnostic audiology, treatment options for hearing loss and tinnitus management, in addition to hearing protection and conservation for people working in the performance industries.

As a certified Lenire provider, Dr. Zappler offers advanced solutions for those seeking relief from tinnitus. 

Dr. Zappler believes investing in the future of audiology is important and is an adjunct faculty member for both A.T. Still Health Sciences University and University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences where she teaches graduate courses.

In her private life, Dr. Zappler enjoys time with her family, which includes her husband, two adult children, four busy grandchildren, two dogs and one cat. She also is an artist, and her work can be found in and around the Austin area on café, library, and gallery walls.

Audiologist/Musician

Angela (Angie) Wooten, MS, has a 40+-year career as a clinical audiologist in the Austin area, including previously owning and running a private practice, Lakeview Hearing Center, in Marble Falls. Angie's service model at Lakeview was people-centered, following her patient care philosophy.

Angie is a long-time musician, playing with the Double Eagle String Band and other local musicians. She is also an Austin Friends of Traditional Music Board Member.

With her musical background and working as a performing musician, Angie now focuses on helping improve the hearing of her fellow musicians.

Sheila Steele

Office Manager

Sheila Steele is the Office Manager at the Austin Hearing Aid Center. She is the voice when you call and the person who greets you when you arrive – in addition to keeping things running smoothly!

As the Austin Hearing Aid Center Office Manager. Sheila genuinely cares about the hearing needs of each and every patient and enjoys finding connections – including music-related, local hangouts, and/or South Austin history. Sheila has a passion for music and film and is an avid supporter of local music in Austin. She has a background in Film/TV and is the Producer of Austin Music TV.

Sheila is a rock star on our team for so many reasons! We also love the work that she does with Support Austin Music.

The Austin Hearing Aid Center (AHAC) team knows how essential hearing is to staying connected with your family and community. We specialize in creating individual treatment plans as unique as you are, including finding the most appropriate hearing devices for each person's lifestyle and budget. We are proud of our decades-long tradition of being Austin's home to hearing care for musicians and music lovers.

Our founder, William (Bill) Rudolph MA, FAAA, opened the Austin Hearing Aid Center in 1983. He was the first audiologist to open a private hearing care practice in Austin, TX.

To this day, we maintain our goal of treating every patient with respect, patience, and compassion. When you walk through our doors, we want you to feel comfortable and at home.

We strive to keep our prices reasonable and offer a range of highly effective, quality-built hearing solutions with value in mind.

Our office is located on the southeast corner of Menchaca Rd and Highway 71, next to Goehring Dental.
